Painting with friends without the pressures or time constraints of shows or a workshop is sooo much fun. I just returned home from a week of painting the Berkshires in MA with my good friends Deb Groesser, Kim Casebeer and Kami Mendlik. This location was a first for all of us and we loved it.
We started the week in Boston visiting the Gardner Museum and the Boston Museum and drooled over the Sargent paintings, always a favorite for me. Our first painting was very close to the house that we stayed in. We all gathered around a field off the main road to town.

There was a great pond close to the house in Great Barrington in the Berkshires. I have another painting of the pond and lily pads half finished and lots of photo references to work from. But these two trees were calling to me to paint them.

All in all it was a wonderful trip and we are all planning to do it again next year. For more information about the Berkshires click HERE.
Now, I need to pack for the next trip. I will be leaving tomorrow for the Lake Shasta area of California. It’ll be quite different, not quite so green. But, cooler than Phoenix. I’m looking forward to beating the heat and missing out on most of the summer here in Phoenix.
Talk to you all later in about two weeks.
