I spent the day in the studio painting and oil landscape and preparing canvas for painting. I needed to record a video for my online oil painting workshop for brushwork. I chose a photo to work from. Drawn to the bright yellow trees in the wash with the contrast of the dark rocks behind them, I moved things around and changed colors a little. I wanted the light yellow/greens of the trees contrasting against the dark warm violets of the rocks. It was a fun painting to paint with the texture and colors. Rocks are always something that I enjoy painting.
