“Late Afternoon Light” 8″x10″ oil on panel. I used to live next to the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale. My back door looked out on them at sunset. I would often walk down the street and into the desert to paint. I no longer live in that same house, but I’m close enough to go back to that area to paint.
During sunset the desert mountains light up and become a warm pink with purples in the shadows. There are rocks throughout the field. The light hits the tops of the light rocks and they glow with warm colors.
