This Week’s Auction – Sunset Serenity

sunset serenity

8″ x 10″ oil on panel, unframed. Another auction and another sunset. I hope you aren’t tired of the sunset’s yet, because I’m not tired of painting them. I like working in series, it helps me to start thinking more and stretching my abilities. One thing about painting is that there is always something to learn. And, we know that there are as many different sunsets as there are days.

Today I went to the Royal Palms Resort to paint, as my usual on Sundays. But, it was just too good of weather to stay indoors. I had to get out and paint. So, I painted by the front entry, painting the statue in the reflecting pool. Of course some women came over and asked about my painting, wondering if it was for sale, blah, blah, blah. They wanted a painting of the resort. I was painting the resort, but it wasn’t the one they wanted. I wonder how many of the resort I should paint.

Seriously, I had been thinking about painting more of the grounds. It is a beautiful place. I guess this will give the inclination to do so, next week.

Tomorrow I start teaching a three day color workshop.

Anyway. here are some photos of the painting of the statue in progress.
