This painting was created as a demo for my “Color & Light” workshop last week. There were just a few tweaks to be made and it was ready for the auction. I taught my students the concepts in painting a sunset. One of the things you may have noticed in my sunsets is that they almost always have an element in the foreground such as the water in this one. The reason for that is that I like some light in the painting besides just the sunlight. I don’t usually like a big expanse of dark.
